CQ WPX Award Requirements
CQ WPX (Worked All Prefixes) Award Rules
The CQ WPX Award, issued by CQ Amateur Radio Magazine, rewards operators for contacting prefixes of amateur callsigns worldwide (e.g. UT8, W1, G3, VE3, ZS6).
Basic Requirements
A prefix is defined as the letter/number combination representing the country/area prefix of a callsign. You must confirm the following number of prefixes depending on your mode:
- Mixed: 400 prefixes
- CW: 300 prefixes
- SSB: 300 prefixes
- Digital: 300 prefixes
Endorsements and Plates
After obtaining the basic certificate, operators can apply for endorsements in increments of 50 prefixes. Additional plates are available for:
- Band Endorsements: Confirming a specific number of prefixes on a single band.
- Continent Endorsements: Confirming prefixes across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
- Award of Excellence: Requires 1000 prefixes (Mixed), all 6 continents, and specific band/mode counts.
