WAS Award Requirements
WAS (Worked All States) Award Rules
The Worked All States (WAS) Award is sponsored by the ARRL. It is a highly popular target for both US-based and international ham radio operators, requiring contacts with all 50 states of the USA.
Basic Rules
- Requirement: Confirm contacts with all 50 US states on any band/mode.
- Verification: QSL card check or verification via Logbook of the World (LoTW).
- Endorsements: Specific certificates can be earned for CW, Novice, QRP, Satellite, EME (moonbounce), and individual bands (e.g. 160M WAS, 6M WAS).
Special Classes
Triple Play Award: Awarded to operators who confirm all 50 states on three modes (CW, Phone, and Digital) exclusively using Logbook of the World (LoTW).
